Shiraz 2005

thomas joseph reserve shiraz 2005
The shiraz pick in 2005 was of very good quality.  Grapes were picked at 13.5º Beaume to make a medium to full bodied wine. Oak was introduced at fermentation to support the black pepper, spicy tones of this cool climate wine. The completed wine has good tannin structure and integrated oak characters.

Served with big flavoured red meats.

2005 Theodore Neville Reserve Shiraz

theodore neville reserve shiraz 2005This wine is fashion in the same style as the 2005 shiraz. Again 2006 was a dry year for shiraz on the granite belt. The pepper, black current and licorice characters are evident in the wine. The grapes are fermented with quality oak shavings, then matured for 8 months before bottling.

This is a medium bodied red wine that supports the more delicate meat flavours.

2009 Semillon Chardonnay

This blend of Semillon and Chardonnay has the seductive herbaceous, grassy aroma associated with a sauvignon blanc. However has a depth of palate not found in a sauvignon blanc. With the addition of 40% Chardonnay you have the fruit flavours of lemon, melon and peach lingering on the taste. The wine has been made without oak

A good accompaniment with seafood and light white meat dishes.

 2009 Walter Darling Shiraz Rose

When you get a dog that good you simply must name a wine after him. “Wally” was a loving, but take no rubbish, from anyone red cattle dog. His ashes are scattered in the vineyard so to help ward off those pesty grape eating birds. Go getem Wally!

The shiraz grapes were pressed and the skins removed after a short time to leave this vibrant light red, pink colour. The palate is of plum, cherry flavours with a sweet finish on the wine. It makes a good afternoon drink on a warm day. Serve with seafood and light pasta sauce meals or cheese.

Char_Sem2002 Chardonnay Semillon

The nose of the wine is a combination of the peach, apple and apricot flavours of the Chardonnay underlined by the fresh straw characters of the Semillon. The wine was fermented with French Oak to round the palate. The mouth filling fruit flavour will suit spicy and Asian foods.

2003_MCS22003 Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon

The Merlot dominates in this blend making it an easy drinking style to suit any meat dish. By the way it has just won a Bronze medal at the 2004 Australian Small Winemakers Show.

2003_SEM22003 Semillon

This wine shows a pale greenish-straw colour in the glass. Its fresh, herbal scent with a tart citric squirt of limejuice. Full and round flavours follow the nose, good clean limey fruit and a hint of earthy green olive. Versatile enough to go well with a wide range of poultry or seafood.

2003_MILT2Mother in Law’s Tongue

This wine is not in keeping with the name. It is a Lambrussco style red wine. A good combination of shiraz, merlot and malbec with residual sugar. For those who like a cold sweet red to accompany almost any dish.

GOLD FOR MOUNT TULLY

After years of winning bronze and silver medals, Mount Tully have won gold at the Queensland Wine Awards in Nov 08. Three red wines were entered and all 3 won a medal.

Another award for Mt Tully

The Mt Tully Vines 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot received a Bronze Medal at the Australian Small Winemakers Show early in November. We were also pleasantly surprised with the high score that our new sweet red, Mother in Law’s Tongue received, just out of the medals.
